Sylvia B. Wiggins

Mrs. Wiggins was born in Macon, Warren County on May 15 1950. Mrs. Wiggins attended Hawkins High School. When Mrs. Wiggins graduated from high school she boarded a bus to Raleigh with only $17.00 in her pocket. 

 

Mrs. Wiggins then got married to Mr. Ruel Lawrence Wiggins Jr.  Mrs. Wiggins work at Jesse Jones and Corning Glass before being enlightened to help people in crisis. Mrs. Wiggins Found the Helping Hand Mission in July of 1973.

 

Mrs. Wiggins started the New Bern House in 1995 with the mission to assist people and families who have fell to hard times. She has assisted so many children through her program and others. So many kids have graduated because of her devotion to insure that all kids have a fighting chance.

 

Mrs. Wiggins found the Helping Hand Mission Marching Band. The band travels all over the North Carolina areas.
